Transparent budget model · No invented city index

Israel Cost-of-Living Budget Calculator

Build a monthly budget from your own assumptions. The previous city “conversion” model has been replaced because a single static multiplier cannot reliably represent current housing, childcare, transportation, and family differences.

The prefilled numbers are an editable example household—not verified averages. Replace every line with quotes, listings, and real expenses relevant to your city and family.

Make the estimate useful

  1. Use current rental listings for the exact neighborhoods you would consider.
  2. Ask the landlord or municipality for arnona history and building fees.
  3. Price childcare, a vehicle, and insurance separately; these often dominate the difference between households.
  4. Run a conservative case with 10%–15% higher expenses and lower initial income.

This is a personal cash-flow worksheet, not a published cost-of-living index. It intentionally avoids claiming that one Israeli city is a fixed percentage more or less expensive than another.
