Moving Money to Israel
The useful comparison is not “zero fee” versus “low fee.” It is how many shekels arrive after the exchange rate, provider fee, funding cost and any intermediary deduction.
Known limits: Availability, verification, transfer times, fees and exchange rates can change by country, amount and funding method. Obtain live quotes and confirm acceptance with your Israeli bank before a large transfer.
Update policy: Material rule changes and corrections are logged on the version-history page.
Compare up to three live quotes
Enter the same amount and the same market-reference rate for every quote. Then enter exactly what each provider says the Israeli recipient will receive, plus any fee paid outside the sent amount.

Quote 3
Enter live quotes from providers using the same source amount.
| Quote | Recipient gets | All-in cost vs reference | Cost % | Effective ILS rate |
|---|
This worksheet does not retrieve a live market rate and does not recommend a provider. A provider may show its fee inside the quote rather than as a separate amount. Do not add the same fee twice.
What to compare besides price
Current examples to obtain a quote from
| Option | Why someone may check it | Important current limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Your existing bank | Existing relationship, branch support and direct receipt into your Israeli account. | Compare the exchange-rate margin and all fees, not only the transfer fee. |
| Wise | Publishes transfer availability and a live quote; supports sending and receiving features for residents of Israel. | Wise states that Israeli-resident verification uses Israeli-issued identification, and a Wise debit card is not currently available to residents of Israel. |
| OFX | Offers USD-to-ILS transfers, customised rates for higher-value transfers and 24/7 support. | Availability and payment methods depend on the sender’s country and currency; obtain the customer quote rather than relying on an indicative rate. |
| Another regulated provider | A third quote can reveal whether one provider’s spread or fee is unusually high. | Verify regulation, supported route, recipient details and complaint channels yourself. |
